I have a coach and love her. Her name is Claudia Spooner and she runs irunitri.com.
She is based out of Austin and I'm up here in Dallas so we do everything virtual. If you are self-coached then you already have the discipline to work with her since it is all through trainingpeaks.com.
You can also email her and she is quick to respond and same with text messages.
For $20/week you can't go wrong. I highly recommend her. HIGHLY!!!!
If you are in New Jersey and are looking for a coach I just did an interview with Elizabeth Wittmaack of Ridgewood Triathletes (ridgewoodtriatheltes.com) and she is a terrifc person who is highly accomplished as well. Another recommendation for her.
I am coached. Her name is Claudia Spooner and she runs iRuniTri (irunitri.com) I highly recommend her.

I've self coached myself for the past 5 years through multiple marathons and up to half ironman distance triathlons. But, now with all 3 kids getting older and our lives always picking up speed each day flying by faster than the next I just decided that it would be best to hire someone to help coach me and with the scheduling of it all. Quality over quantity is what I need most.
So, I'm lucky to say that I'll be working with Heather Haviland for next year. I CAN"T WAIT : )
Wow.. feeling lonely in the coaching department!!! :( Boo!
Velma.. on the caffeine thing.. when I'm looking for the comfort of coffee I have Teccino (http://www.teeccino.com/).. it's NOT coffee it 'resembles' coffee and provides me w/ the warm creamy comfort food part of coffee in the afternoon w/o the caffeine or the chemicals of the decaf. It's a crutch for sure! :) Also I've read that taking VitC helps w/ the withdrawal effects of quitting! :)
Self coached but I'd loooooooooove a coach!!

ReplyDeleteI was not coached last year but since I'm training for longer distances decided it would be best to get a coach :)
